Graphics explained : Michael Evamy reveals Coast.

≤ back to homepage

Along with 6 other international graphic design studios (including 2x4 in New York and Browns in London), coast has been selected by Michael Evamy to be publish in the new Rotovision book called "Graphics explained", out of press early 2009. Graphics Explained aims to reveal and contrast the approaches and motivations of different designers, from different age groups and cultures, to similar design challenges. It aims to feature inspiring work from around the world, but also to understand and convey the forces that shaped that work. It gives participating designers a proper platform on which to explain and publicise their work, much as they might at a workshop or conference… but to a larger, worldwide audience.

"Graphics explained" is an insight into 7 themes :
- Design for a good cause / pro bono
- design for a major commercial client or brand
- design for a long-term client
- design with no/very low budget
- the closed design brief (ie. many creative restrictions)
- the wide open design brief (ie. no creative restrictions)
- the collaboration with another design discipline (eg product design, interior design, architecture)

For the book we have selected along with Michael works for Dockers, Modo Bruxellae, Eurodad, The European Commission, News, Nightlife and Wolubilis.
