In 2004, Coast was commissioned to design, develop and create a website platform about Nightlife in Belgium. More than just a database of nightlife places and nightlife activities, Nightlife.be embraced different aspects of after 7pm life, through art, fashion, music and social events. To promote Nightlife.be, a launch party was organised with live band Vive la fete at the studio 202 in Brussels.
To bring the Nightlife brand into life, Coast devised, developed and designed multiple communication items based on nightlife experience. Among them, a book manifesto, aiming to bring a positive yet different point of view on nightlife in Belgium. The book was designed as a nightlife object : dark, sensuous, sexual. The cover was made from neoprene, with a debossing of elements of the Nightlife logotype. With a content of 140 pages, the Nightlife book illustrated the expression of the quality of nightlife, its people, its places, its art. Conceptualised as a timeline, the book opens up at 7pm and closes at 5am, like a night.
