Lester's Miami

Last week we made a visit to Miami. This time we went to develop, design and write content for the "all you need" gazette, a small newspaper on the best of Miami available only for Blanc Kara hotel guets.

While interviewing great key people of the Miami scene, we came accross Daniel Milewski of Lester's on NW second avenue. Lester's is the kind of place you could find in Berlin Mitte or Brussels St Gilles: a place where people and genre mixes (artists, locals, Wypsters) in a laidback atmosphere. O'Sun great launch Milano 2012

O'SUN™, created at the start of 2011, is the result of an association of people with a wealth of varied experience who decided to devote their energy, networks and resources to designing a range of portable solar lighting systems and accessories, which can be used anywhere in the world. Their aim is to provide quality lighting, combining solidity and simplicity, for all those who are not yet connected to mains electricity and, thus, help populations in developing countries who are most affected by this shortcoming. One fifth of the world's population lives without electricity. When the sun sets, their lives are plunged into darkness and they have to rely on candles and oil lamps. This form of lighting, powered by fuel, is dangerous, polluting and expensive, and the quality of light emitted is very mediocre. Kerosene is one of the most commonly used energy sources, and not only does it pollute the atmosphere, but also the people who are exposed to it.

Coast is part of the team for brand and packaging, but O'Sun is driven and devised by Xavier baudoux, and the lamp was conceived by Alain Gilles. A lot of great articles have already been published : Click here and Click here and Click here

The product made its introduction to Milan 2012 with a positive response from the public and the design scene. Our packaging design has already been selected to the National price of design "L'Observeur du design 13".

Full branding program for Premium store chain

In september 2011 SMETS concept store family enlisted Coast to provide design and positionning explorations for their new premium store located in Brussels. With a portfolio of more than 20 shops in Luxembourg, the SMETS family is an institution and the leader in luxury fashion in their home country. This time, in Brussels, their offer expanded to fashion, design, furniture and food, with one restaurant and one bar.

Our challenge was to bring the brand to a level consistency across all platforms, creating bridges between art, design, fashion and food. Our positionning work digged deep into the brand attributes, and our creative work resulted in a playful and consistent system of typeface, colours and symbols.

To ensure singularity and consistency, we have created a custom-made typeface called SMETS VOID. A typeface bringing together the world of art, design and fashion under one umbrella. This typeface, used throughout all applications and brand names (SMETS PREMIUM STORE, BOWERY restaurant,S BAR) is uplifted by the use of striking fluorescent colors and custom-made symbols.

Our work for the SMETS concept store will also be applied to all SMETS shops in Luxembourg.

We have helped the client clarify its positionning, at the crossword of fashion, art, design & food. The full spectrum of the offer needed to be implemented in the core values of the brand and its identity.

New season art direction and catalogue design for Komono Brand. This time, the tone was set on the coastline of a foreign retreat, somewhere between here and the pacific ocean. The catalogue is a collection of unbounded posters, with pictures collapsing into each other.
